The Centralian’s Players

The “Care” Home

November 5th -7th- 7:45pm - Ticket £12.00

Time - 7:45pm (doors open 7pm)

Steve Barker's latest comedy The "Care" Home is a comedy set in a care home, but not everything is as it seems. Don't let the walking sticks and senile patients fool you, everyone has a backstory and hidden past lives.

The resident's of a local care home are all lonely, senile and spaced out. But that's exactly how Rose, the nurse in charge, likes them to be. Giving her an easier life. But word soon spreads about what she's up to and the clued up resident Mo Rawlings devises a plan to overthrow her tyrannical ways. After the plan goes awry, the residents need to work together to fix it. Bad hips, dodgy knees, and a visit from Mo's criminal nephew Martin all make for a hilarious story to unfold.

The "Care" Home is Steve Barker's 5th play, making him an established playwright. Steve's new comedy is sure to have you laughing in your seats, and perhaps even raving in the aisles. Enjoy a great night with the Centralian Players' new comedy, The "Care" Home.

Live & Local - An Awesome Foursome - Richard Lucas, Foxpalmer, Steve Warner & Callum Granger

21st NOVEMBER - 7.30PM (DOORS OPEN 7PM), TICKETS £10

Richard Lucas – the voice of The Broxton Hundred – steps out solo with a sound that fuses the golden glow of 60s/70s songwriting with modern indie allure. His first two singles, Roll the Dice and Always Looking for You (Sugar Spun Records), introduced a warmer, more personal side to his music, rich in melody and heartfelt storytelling. Now crafting new material at Laurel Sound Studios – home to sessions from Mystery Jets, Fraser T Smith, and Sunspells – Lucas is set to bring his intimate yet powerful live set to stages across the UK. Expect hook-filled songs, vintage charm, and the magnetic presence of a frontman in full creative flow.

Foxpalmer is a London-based artist with a unique blend of rock, Americana style folk and lush indie. Her unique sound, stunning original music and compelling live shows have seen her perform a number of tours as well opening for chart-topping acts such as Scottish pop artist Sandi Thom, indie rockers Dodgy, Bluetones frontman Mark Morris and three jaunts around the UK with award-winning prog trio Blackheart Orchestra. She’s also appeared at numerous festivals, including Celtic Connections in Glasgow (twice), Coventry’s Godiva Festival and Cambridge Rock Festival. 2025 is proving to be another exciting year, with numerous festival appearances.

Steve Warner is a Hertfordshire-based singer songwriter, writing and performing acoustic/folk/roots music in local folk clubs. He is touring this autumn, showcasing a new EP of storytelling and tenor guitar songs (four strings, not a uke). The tenor guitar remains something of a rarity in folk music circles and Steve has developed a distinctive performance style that blends the rich, resonant tones of the tenor guitar with the drone of a shruti box (played with a pedal), live looping, and storytelling. His set will combine thought-provoking, emotionally resonant songs — the kind that make audiences laugh, cry, and reflect — with a sound that’s both unique and deeply rooted in tradition.

Callum Granger is making his Live & Local debut and will bring songs that blend contemporary folk, Americana, and Roots, infused with a twist of blues. His live performances feature original songs that tell compelling stories of love and loss, but also songs that are just good fun. Everything from impressive fingerstyle guitar to loud and proud old-school guitar riffs, it’s all there. Encouraged by a positive response to his debut singles in 2025, Callum is now hard at work recording his first full solo album of original songs. He’s also been busy this year appearing at numerous festivals, with his reputation growing with every performance.
